These two are at opposite ends of the same question: how much control do you want, and what are you willing to spend to have it? Not money — time.
An afternoon against several weeks
Wix scores 5 for ease and Webflow scores 2, which is the widest gap on that dimension in this directory. Wix is designed so that somebody with no training gets a working site the same day. Webflow's own strength is that any layout you could hand-build is reachable in the editor, and competence with it takes weeks rather than an afternoon.
That is not a criticism of either. It is the entire decision, and pretending otherwise is how people buy Webflow, spend two evenings on it and go back to what they had.
Webflow scores 5 for design against Wix's 4, and its Collections generate pages from a shape defined once — which is the feature that makes a large site maintainable rather than a hundred pages edited by hand.
Who each editor is built for
Wix's editor holds enough features to be daunting on a first visit, which is a different problem from Webflow's: too much on screen rather than too much to understand.
Wix includes bookings, a store and marketing email in the product. Webflow has none of the three, and its billing is the thing to read carefully — site plans, workspace plans and add-ons stack into one bill that is larger than the headline.
The exit differs sharply. Webflow exports the code and you can take it elsewhere. Wix has no export of any kind, so a finished Wix site cannot be moved.
Wix scores 5 for support against Webflow's 3, with round-the-clock help on the cheapest paid plan — which for somebody learning as they go is worth more than any feature on either list.
Which should you choose?
Choose Wix if you are the person building it, you are not a designer, and you want bookings or a shop without assembling anything.
Choose Webflow if a designer is doing the work, the layout matters more than the timeline, and being able to take the code with you is worth the weeks it costs to learn.
