About Weebly
Weebly is interesting for its situation rather than for its feature list. It is owned by a payments company that also sells a newer builder of its own, and that company's help centre — written to persuade Weebly customers to move — describes two genuinely different editing models, two incompatible extension ecosystems, and confirms that existing sites stay put. It is a live product with a real editor, not a redirect.
What it does, it does plainly. Two reviewers who built sites on it describe the editor as intuitive and clearly signposted with no prior skill needed, a shopping cart with unlimited items is listed on every tier including the cheapest, a blog with posts and categories is part of the editor, and the underlying markup and stylesheet can be edited directly.
The catch is everything that has happened since. There is no AI site generation and no assistance of any kind, which two independent reviewers state separately. The theme gallery holds fewer than twenty templates and reviewers call them dated. They also report it is hard to grow into, with thin marketing tools and an unreliable extension ecosystem. The vendor's own position is that it has no plans to discontinue it while encouraging new sites elsewhere.
