Zenfolio is built for photographers whose website is part of a working process rather than a shop window. A site and a custom domain come on every tier, client proofing is central, and scheduling can be added so that enquiries, bookings and delivered images all sit in the same place. For a portrait or wedding photographer, that continuity is the argument.

Selling prints properly requires the middle tier, and appointments are a paid monthly add-on below the top plan rather than an included feature, so the working setup costs more than the entry figure suggests.

The downside is the renewal, and it is a problem of disclosure rather than of price. The vendor states plainly that promotional offers apply to first-year subscriptions only and renew at standard rates afterwards — and then does not publish the standard rate anywhere. A reader can establish that the advertised figure will rise and cannot establish by how much, which is a worse position than a published increase.
